Drawdown

Using an Ever After Drawdown Sheet, you will also need a cotton swab and clean water.  To begin, select a swatch area and place a drop of pigment in the upper left-hand circle.  Submerge a clean cotton swab in clean water for about 3 seconds. Touch the swab tip to the drop of pigment -- and while applying consistent pressure -- make a zig-zag, downward-sweeping motion to fill the box both horizontally and vertically with color.  The pigment will gradually thin and lighten as the swab moves downward.  Allow the page to air-dry.  Write the pigment's name at the top of the box.  For best results, test on scrap paper first and do not reapply or go back over the same area with the swab.

Shake

Best to regularly and thoroughly shake pigment bottles weekly and immediately before each use as pigment can settle.  Shake in a circular motion to stir pigment that has settled to the bottom of the bottle.  Listen for the marble to move freely.  Then vigorously shake up and down. Make sure lid is tightened and it is best to apply a paper towel over the lid to prevent accidental leaks while shaking.

Storage

If used less than once a week, store bottles laying down instead of standing up as this creates more surface area for more efficient shaking.
